This week we made some scrummy dips to dip fruits and vegetables in. They were delicious. This is how we did it:

Fruit Dip

Cut up a mango and put into a bowl. Mash the mango.

Mix in 150g of greek yoghurt and a tablespoon of honey.

Dip in your favourite fruits, to make them extra yummy.

Vegetable Dip

Cut an avacado in half. Remove the stone and scoop of the flesh.

Squeeze in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.

Mash the ingredients up.

Mix in 2 tablespoons of sour cream.

Chop up one tomato and add to the dip. Mix in a few chives

Dip in your favourite vegetables - celery, red or yellow pepper, cucumber or mini sweetcorns would be great.

Yum Yum Yum!!

Making Crispy Cakes

US ENJOYING THE RICE KRISPY CAKES

This week we made chocolate crispy cakes. These are really tasty treats, you could even make them to go in your lunchbox.

Here is how to do it:

1. Melt a bar of chocolate (either in the microwave or over boiling water) YOU MUST DO THIS WITH AN ADULT.

2. Pour in lots of rice Krispies and stir.

3. Add in some raisins if you want to.

4. Decorate the cakes with marshmallows, hundreds and thousands, or smarties.

5. Put into the fridge for 15 minutes to chill.

Let us know what you thought of the cakes, and maybe you could even try and make of your own.

MAKING SCONES

This week we made scones. They were very nice. This is how we made them. You will need:
225g flour (self-raising)
55g butter
25g of caster sugar
150ml milk
Pinch of salt

If you are making cheese scones, leave out the sugar and add some grated cheese. If you want to make sweet scones, add the sugar and add some raisins.

Here is how you do it:

1. Pre-heat the oven to 220C. Grease a baking tray.

2. Mix the flour and salt together. Rub the butter into the mixture.

3. To get a dough, first stir in the sugar and raisins or the cheese, and then the milk.

4. Knead the dough onto a work surface that has been floured. Roll out the dough to about 2cm thick. Then cut out small circles using a cutter.

5. Brush the top of the scones with a little milk and then put inot the oven. Bske for 12 - 15 minutes until golden brown.

6. Cool on a rack and then enjoy.

Which scones did you prefer - the sweet or the cheesy scones?
